Accademia di Musica

One of the most prestigious schools of advanced music training in Italy, the Accademia di Musica has been open since 1994 in Pinerolo and Turin, combining concert seasons with a wide-ranging teaching offer aimed at training music professionals. Each year almost 600 students enrol in its many advanced courses and masterclasses in piano, viola, violin, cello, orchestra excerpts, chamber music, composition, flute, clarinet and oboe, as well participating in our Special Projects, such as the summer camp and the Professione Orchestra training programme. In 2019/2020, we established Post-graduate Specialist Courses in Music Performance – the first of their kind in Italy - for piano, contemporary piano, violin and cello. These courses are recognised by the MIUR, the Italian Ministry for education, universities and research (now MUR). The Accademia has staged more than a thousand concert performances: in almost thirty years of its annual Concert season in Pinerolo, as well as in a summer concert series for Musica d’Estate in Bardonecchia and other performances at venues around Piedmont. The bi-annual International Chamber Music Competition Pinerolo e Torino Città metropolitana sees performances by some of most talented young musicians on the international music scene. Since its inception, our school has always supported exceptionally talented young people, providing them with courses held by internationally renowned teachers, and creating opportunities for them to perform in public.
