ADES produces solar and energy-efficient cookstoves in Madagascar and promotes the use of renewable energy sources. The cookstoves are manufactured entirely in Madagascar and sold at an affordable, subsidized price. Additionally, ADES invests in education and runs reforestation projects. The use of climate-friendly solar cookstoves and energy-saving stoves reduces the need for large amounts of wood and charcoal, which in turn protects the climate, biodiversity, and public health, while also contributing to poverty alleviation. ADES employs over 300 people in Madagascar, mainly in production, sales, and training. The cookstoves are sold at 17 local centers across the country. Furthermore, ADES follows a people-centered approach to reforesting and offers educational programs for schools throughout Madagascar.
