Adventist Medical Center Manila

341 employees

The center of excellence in faith-based healthcare, education and lifestyle involved in sharing Jesus Christ's healing ministry. AdventistMed began in 1928 in the first floor of a Seventh-Day Adventist mission house in Malate, Manila. Pioneered by a missionary physician, Dr. Horace A. Hall, with the aid of three nurses, the work was carried on mainly for the Adventist constituents who lived in Manila and neighboring provinces. As the demands increased, the mission house adjacent to the dispensary was turned into a temporary hospital. To accommodate more patients, a three-story building was constructed in 1929 and was merged with the temporary hospital —the Manila Sanitarium and Hospital was born. With the steadily increasing patronage, it became expedient to erect a larger building in a better location. For this reason, in 1940, a new four-storey building was constructed in a 2 and 1/2 acre of land at the corner of Donada and San Juan streets, Pasay City, where to this day the hospital still stands.
