Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals

The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals is an intermediate appellate court with exclusive appellate jurisdiction over all felonies and misdemeanors cases, including habeas corpus and postconviction writs, in Alabama. The Court additionally has original jurisdiction in the issuance and determination of extraordinary writs related to subjects within it appellate jurisdiction. Five judges, who are elected statewide, serve on the Court of Criminal Appeals.
