ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art

ARKEN lies like a stranded ship a stone's throw from Køge Bay and is beautifully placed in the surrounding beach park. The building, which is one of the most distinctive edifices of the 1990s, definitely merits a visit in itself. Inside visitors can enjoy internationally rated art exhibitions and a permanent exhibition, which contains Danish, Northern and international art from 1990 onwards. ARKEN also has a wonderful museum shop packed with interesting design articles and a café, where visitors can enjoy the chef’s delicious food.
