BIT was established in August 1983 by Founder and Principal Ms. Lubna Choudhury, guided by the belief that the children of our newly independent nation should be educated at a global standard so that they could contribute to the transformation of Bangladesh and the world. Today, BIT caters to students from Pre-Play through A Levels, following the UK-based Edexcel IGCSE & IAL curricula, which provide students with internationally recognized education. BIT’s commitment to excellence is reflected in our world-class faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and rigorous curriculum. Our dedication to holistic education is evident in the vast array of sports, arts, literature, cultural and current affairs activities that we offer. We also pride ourselves on our commitment to international languages. While teaching our students English and Bengali, we provide French and Mandarin language courses. BIT’s comprehensive approach to education is fostered within a 17-bigha (10.5 acre) campus in Uttara and additional campuses in Gulshan. Safety and security remain our highest priorities as we have a large dedicated Ansar personnel team and extensive CCTV coverage. Guided by the legacy of our founder, Ms. Lubna Choudhury, BIT is led by her daughters, Ms. Anika Rahman (BA from Princeton University and Juris Doctor from Columbia University) and Ms. Talita Choudhury (BA from Mount Holyoke College and MA in Education from The City College of New York). We remain a family-run institution passionately focused on educating our children to become good human beings. BIT’s motto, “To serve the nation,” reflects our enduring commitment to shaping future leaders. We have had the privilege of developing several generations of achievers and leaders, who now form a vibrant and powerful network of BIT alumni around the world.
