Established in 2002, Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring smart financial decision-making in young adults, high school students, and their families. Through a series of short-interactive lessons, we provide education on budgeting, cyber-fraud and the responsible use of credit to help achieve a financially secure future. CARE Los Angeles was established in 2018 and has given presentations to thousands of high school students, young adults and their families since its formation. What sets CARE apart from other financial education programs is its team of volunteers, which consists of bankruptcy judges, lawyers, and financial professionals, who bring their real-life experiences working with individuals in financial distress into the classroom. CARE seeks to educate and empower all individuals to feel confident in their financial decisions related to their uniquely diverse economic and social backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
