Our mission is to promote the well-being, rights, and autonomy of older adults through advocacy, education, and action. As a leading advocate in aging, CARIE’s work advances the health, safety, and dignity of older adults of any and every socioeconomic, racial, cultural, gender, sexuality, and disability background. CARIE’s programs extend to the entire state of Pennsylvania and beyond. We are a leader in providing direct assistance to older adults, their families, and professionals in the aging field. Our programs include: • Ombudsman: Complaint resolution and resident rights representation for long term care residents in Philadelphia • CARIE Line: Free help line providing information and support in addressing issues related to older adults and caregivers • Victim Advocacy: Court accompaniment, advocacy, restorative justice, and therapy for older adult crime victims in Philadelphia • Policy Advocacy: Provides education and advocacy on local, state, and national policy that affects older adults • Senior Medicare Prevention: Protects Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries in Pennsylvania from fraud and abuse
