Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. is South Carolina’s generation and transmission electric cooperative, providing power to South Carolina’s 19 distribution cooperatives. These cooperatives ultimately serve over 1.5 million member-consumers. Central primarily purchases the power it supplies to its members through long-term power supply contracts. In addition, Central constructs and maintains transmission lines located throughout the state.
