China Academy of Urban Planning and Design

Established in 1952, CAUPD (中国城市规划设计研究院) is a national research institution directly positioned under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of PRC. CAUPD’s expertise is broad and multi-disciplinary, spanning the fields of regional and master planning, urban development, civil engineering, architectural design, historic preservation, urban informatics, etc. As the sole national urban planning institute of its kind, CAUPD produces approximately 90% of China’s urban master plans, while maintaining an unparalleled network of partners and affiliations.
