Diabetes Research Western Australia is a medical research organisation specialising in diabetes. We fund research into all forms of diabetes including the prevention of associated complications. Our aim is to create a world without diabetes and believe with increased financial support and working in collaboration with other institutions we will. We are a registered not-for-profit charity with DGR status in Australia meaning all donations over $2 are tax-deductible. Almost $6milion has now been injected into diabetes research projects in Western Australia, comprising of over 75 project grants and scholarships. From the outstanding efforts of a dedicated team, a Centre for Diabetes Research was established in Perth in 2005. This centre of excellence conducts cutting-edge, world-class research in collaboration with the best institutions around the world under the guidance of Professor Grant Morahan. We know that research is the only way we will find a cure or cures for diabetes along with better treatments, medication delivery systems, and the prevention of complications like retinopathy, cardiovascular and kidney disease. Our research is dependent upon support from individuals, the business and corporate sector and we offer volunteering, sponsorship, workplace giving and EOFY giving.
