Dreams for Change was founded in May 2009 by Teresa Smith, Ph.D., to serve the needs of families and individuals struggling due to the recession’s economic downturn by starting the first congregant Safe Parking Program. Since then, Dreams for Change has pioneered other cost-effective programs that stabilize the lives of thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness and diverting people from becoming homeless. Dreams for Change takes a 3 Paths to Stability approach. These paths include: Support – Case Management, Safe Parking, and Safe Sleeping Employment – Workforce Training, Job Readiness & Personal Development Classes, along with job placement or education opportunities Assets – Free Tax Preparation and Financial Literacy
