The European Solidarity Corps for Youth is part of the occupational strand of the European Solidarity Corps. The European Solidarity Corps is a European Union initiative that offers young Europeans (18-30 years old) the possibility to volunteer or work in projects abroad that benefit communities and people around Europe for a period ranging from 2 to 12 months. Its mission is to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal challenges. It offers an inspiring and empowering experience for young people who want to help, learn and develop. It is an enriching experience for employers who feel concerned and want to contribute. The objective of the occupational strand is to offer 6,000 fixed term work placements to young Europeans across the Union in occupations with a solidarity dimension. The work placements can be in form of a job, a traineeship, or an apprenticeship.
