Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS

Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS was established in 2003 by Umberto Veronesi, an important figure in cancer treatment and in the international scientific community.  He brought vigour and innovation to medical research in Italy and revolutionised the way cancer is perceived and improvedaccess to treatment, while opening the way to conservative surgery for breast cancer. He had deep convictions about the active role that science plays in society, therefore he sought to establish multidisciplinary discussions on the important issues that affect the whole of humanity, the future of science, human rights, and sustainable progress.
