The establishment of Armed Forces in the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia, gave rise to the Army Medicine in Taif 1947, which was a ten bed health care centre, and it was named ( Military Health) in 1950. In the year 1951 Prince Mansour Military Hospital was launched with a capacity of (36 Beds) that was later increased to be (100 Beds) by the end of the year. In the year 1953 Prince Mesha’al Hospital in Al-Kharj was opened, followed by opening Armed Forces Hospital in Riyadh. In 1972 His royal Highness Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General issued a royal decree which by declares the name of (General Directorate of Medical Services of the Armed Forces) and services expansion to include all armed forces with an independent budget as of the fiscal year 1394 Ah /1395 Ah.
