Government College Umuahia

Official Page of Government College Umuahia (GCU), a world class residential all boys secondary school located on Ikot-Ekpene Road, Umuahia in Abia State, which offers a combination of British and Nigerian curricula. Founded in 1929 by Rev Robert Fisher, GCU was known as the 'Eton of the East,' at that time because it was located in Nigeria’s orient and was known for its elite standards and selectivity. Since 2014, Fisher Educational Trust has been vested with all legal interests, rights and power pertaining to ownership, management, operation, control and funding of Government College Umuahia. The trust was set up by the Government College Umuahia Old Boys Association (GCUOBA).
