Gul Ahmed Energy Group is a leading power generation group in Pakistan, founded in 1994 by (Late) Mr. Iqbal Alimohamed. The group initially started with a thermal power plant in Karachi and has since expanded its project portfolio to include wind, solar, and power solutions. The group currently has a total power generation capacity of 236 Megawatts (MW). The group aims to provide clean energy to the Government of Pakistan and has gained global interest and partnerships with foreign investors for its projects, thereby promoting Pakistan on international platforms. Gul Ahmed Energy Limited operates a 136.17 MW thermal power plant in Karachi. The plant, established in 1994, operates on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis. The company's Operations & Maintenance team, consisting of experienced professionals in the energy sector, ensures the smooth functioning of the plant. Additionally, the group has two wind power subsidiaries: Gul Ahmed Wind Power Limited and Gul Ahmed Electric Limited. The Gul Ahmed Wind Power project, located between Karachi and Hyderabad, operates a 50 MW wind farm since October 2016. The Gul Ahmed Electric project, situated in Jhimpir, has a wind power generation capacity of 50 MW and commenced commercial operations in April 2022. Both projects were developed in line with the Government of Pakistan's policy for renewable energy development. In addition to power generation, Gul Ahmed Energy Group provides energy and engineering services through its subsidiary, Gul Ahmed Energy Power Solutions. The company offers crane rental and lifting services, boasting a fleet of technologically advanced equipment, including a crawler crane and truck mobile crane with high lifting capacities. They also provide comprehensive rigging activities executed by a qualified rigging crew.
