206 employees

Haldia Energy Limited (HEL), a fully integrated power utility of the flagship RP-SG group of companies, has developed a 2 X 300 MW coal based thermal power plant at Haldia, East Medinipur, and West Bengal, India. The project was conceived to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of power in the CESC system to make it self-sufficient to ensure un-interrupted power to the city of Kolkata and its suburbs. The power is transferred through a dedicated 400 KV twin circuit transmission line connecting the power station to PGCIL substation at Subhasgram. The BTG supplier for the project was M/s Shanghai Electric Group Co. Ltd., China while the BOP supplier and EPC contractor was M/s Punj Lloyd Limited, India. Both the 300 MW units achieved COD on 28.01.15 and 21.02.15 respectively.
