Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department (HCESD 48) serves over 130,000 people in a 45 square mile portion of the greater Katy area 25 miles west of Houston, Texas. HCESD 48 is a full service 24/7 combination fire department that provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, emergency management, fire prevention, and fire and life safety education to the citizens of Emergency Services District #48. HCESD 48 is led by Fire Chief John Paetow, Asst. Chief of Operations Brett Ellis, Asst. Chief of Administration Ray Sidwell and Asst. Chief of EMS Eric Bank. Our Training Division is lead by Battalion Chief Glen Trahan who has been instrumental in enhancing our training programs for our fire and ems personnel. We are very proud to be a SFFMA and TCFP training facility and to host our own internal fire academy for volunteers entering our new cadet training program. In addition to internal training we also host training opportunities at our facilities for neighboring fire departments in the region.
