Hima Cement Ltd. is the preferred supplier of building products and solutions in East Africa. The history of Hima Cement stretches back to 1994 when the Uganda government made a decision to privatize Uganda Cement Industries, forming two separate companies, one of which was Hima Cement. In 1999, the company was acquired by the Lafarge Group as a subsidiary of the Bamburi Cement Group of Kenya and Hima Cement Ltd was created. In 2024, Hima Cement was acquired by Sarrai Group. We have grown to become one of Uganda’s leading cement producers with a cement production capacity of over 2 Million Tonnes from our three factories. Hima Cement supplies all regions across Uganda as well as the export markets of Rwanda, Southern Sudan and DRC.
