Horry Electric Cooperative was organized April 25, 1940 with 627 charter members. Today, the Cooperative serves more than 90,000 active meters through 26 substations across more than 5,700 miles of distribution line in Horry County. Horry Electric is a non-profit, member-owned organization providing information and energy-related services on a fair and equitable basis.
