Simple Concept – The Ice Bear thermal storage system stores energy in the form of ice when electric power is least expensive and typically when there is excess renewable power available. When power is most expensive, the Ice Bear uses the stored ice for AC cooling. End-use customers avoid higher peak-energy-rates and significantly lower their AC consumption and power costs. Customers also benefit from deferred maintenance by lowering the usage of existing AC equipment since the Ice Bear or Cub will provide cooling during the hottest times of the year.
