Ignite Reading

Just 3 in 10 U.S. 4th graders are reading on grade level.* Ignite Reading is on a mission to fix this, ensuring every student can access the tools they need to be a confident, fluent reader by the end of 1st grade. With a team of literacy specialists and highly trained tutors, we provide daily, targeted instruction via 1:1 virtual tutoring. Our evidence-based instruction helps kids quickly closes reading gaps, so they can successfully make the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Results from an evaluation of Ignite Reading by the Center for Research and Reform in Education at Johns Hopkins University** showed that students reading below grade level who received tutoring achieved significant literacy gains: ⏫ Students at benchmark increased 213% ⏫ ⏬ Students needing intensive intervention decreased 55% ⏬ Notably, researchers found students across subgroups — historically marginalized groups, English learners, and students with IEPs — achieved similar gains, with only small, non-meaningful differences between them.
