IDA is an independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. IDA works to ensure the right to the highest attainable standard of health and medical impartiality for all. IDA advocates for the protection of civilians, hospitals, and healthcare workers, unhindered humanitarian access, the neutrality of aid provision, and the meaningful representation of civil society/NGOs in decision-making processes. Established in 2012 by Syrian doctors, IDA has emerged as a pivotal healthcare provider within Syria. Mission Statement We don’t know when there will be a solution to the conflict in Syria. But we know that every Syrian deserves a future in health and dignity. And this is where we come in: We provide comprehensive health, nutrition, and protection services in areas inside Syria where no one else is taking over this responsibility. We focus on the needs of displaced people and the communities hosting them. We aim to honor every patient’s dignity and empower the health workforce in Syria. Vision Ensure the fundamental right to lead a healthy, autonomous, and dignified life for all. Objective Our objective is to build and strengthen local healthcare systems, foster a standard level of health and social well-being and contribute to the development of Syria by working towards a healthier future generation.
