Years ago I reached a point in professional life when what work I do, what I am learning, who I am working with, and the goals/challenge of the work at hand matter more to me than the name of the company that is currently on my W2 or 1099. As an individual enterprise, I take responsbility for all aspects of my professional life. Career development, conpensation, job performance, and even succession planning.
