Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital was successfully commissioned in April 2010 as an acute secondary health care facility with two state-of-the-art medical centres. Cockburn Town Medical Centre is located on the island of Grand Turk and Cheshire Hall Medical Centre is located on the island of Providenciales. Both serve the local population and visitors across the archipelago and have built-in capacity to double in size. The public hospital is managed by InterHealth Canada on behalf of the Turks and Caicos Islands Government through a Public-Private Partnership agreement. As recognized pioneers in healthcare Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), InterHealth Canada is a world leader in healthcare operations and management with diverse activities in planning, management and consulting. Established by an initiative from two Provincial Canadian Governments, InterHealth Canada was created to export Canada’s intellectual expertise in healthcare to an expanding international market. Cheshire Hall Medical Centre has a two-bed High Dependency Unit for patients in need of intensive monitoring and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
