The Department of Insurance and Financial Services administers and coordinates various regulatory, service, and licensing functions of the state relating to the business of insurance, banking and credit unions in the state. The department consists of the following divisions: Banking Credit unions Insurance The insurance commissioner serves as the department director and is appointed by the governor.
