Kakatiya Medical College, founded in 1959, started with support from Andhra Pradesh leaders, including Chief Minister Neelam Sanjiva Reddy. It was inaugurated in 1959 by Sri P. Karmarkar, Minister of Health, Government of India. The college's permanent campus, inaugurated by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1966, spans 152.17 acres. The campus includes hostels, an auditorium, staff quarters, and essential facilities. In 1977, the college came under the jurisdiction of the Andhra Pradesh government and later affiliated with NTR University of Health Sciences. Postgraduate courses were introduced in 1972, recognized by the Medical Council of India. Notably, the college hosted the 2006-2007 Intermedics sports meet, and a new hostel was inaugurated by Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister. Show more Show less
