Kofoeds Skole

130 employees

Kofoeds Skole is a social service that every year helps 3,600 adults in socially vulnerable positions.   People who are unemployed and want to take responsibility and action in order to get their life back on track. We call ourselves a school because we are a place where you learn. Everyone who comes to Kofoed's School is therefore a student. In workshops, classrooms, counseling sessions and social communities, the 'students' learn new skills and participate in social interaction. At the core of our social pedagogic work is a principle of empowerment. This means that Kofoeds Skole helps the individual student to activate, build and develop their personal resources, skills and self-esteem. Kofoeds Skole was founded by choirmaster Hans Christian Kofoed in 1928 and today has branches in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Ålborg and Nuuk, as well as sister schools in 9 Eastern and Central European countries.
