Since its inception, the Law Department has been rendering dedicated services to the State by imparting legal advice in general as well as in significant matters to various Departments of the Government and further by drafting Bills and Ordinances, required to be introduced in the State Legislature. This department being the principal legal advisor of the Government is responding effectively and speedily to the demands received from the various organs of the Government and thus is playing a pivotal role in both advisory as well as in drafting work. In a nutshell, every policy decision of the Government is legally adjudged so as to withstand the test of judicial scrutiny by legal institutions including courts of law.
