At Lumos our vision is to bring the classroom out of the 90's and make interacting with it as simple as using your iPad. With our SmartHub a teacher has the ability to wirelessly mirror or stream content from any device to the projector. What's even better is that we are platform agnostic. The capability is there regardless of your school or personal preference, be it iPad, Android, Mac or PC. Audio from these devices is broadcast on up to four ceiling mounted speakers. Additionally, the teachers voice will also broadcast by use of a sleek and modern wireless microphone. The SmartHub also has a paging input that senses when an overhead announcement is being made and mutes the audio to ensure important messages are not missed. With our SmartHub, connectivity issues are no longer a problem because our device broadcasts its own wireless network. This means that teachers connect directly to our device and any broadcast is handled peer-to-peer. This means the teacher is no longer reliant on the access point three classrooms down with thirty devices connected to it. So what if teachers computer is not wireless, or the projector is as old as the teacher? Our SmartHub also includes HDMI and VGA inputs and outputs. The best part about it is that the teacher has control of this device right at their fingertips. Using our included Android and iOS app the teacher can simply select "Show Desktop" or "DVD Player" and our system does the rest. It will automatically switch to the correct input, power on the projector, and give the teacher volume controls. Unlike many of the devices that schools use today this is not a consumer grade device that happens to have applications in education, it has been designed and engineered specifically for the classroom.
