Miba Sinter Brasil, was former “Metal Leve”, a Brazilian auto parts manufacturer founded in 1951, in partnership with the German Ernst Mahle, who settled in Brazil and became a founding partner of the company, establishing a solid partnership and providing technology to start the activities. It started manufacturing automotive pistons, initially licensing German Mahle's know how. In June 1996, Mahle tooked over operations and became Mahle Metal Leve. In 1998, the joint venture between Mahle & Miba began, being called Mahle Metal Leve Miba Sinterizados Ltda. In 2017, the Miba Group took over, becoming Miba Sinter do Brasil Ltda.
