MNNIT Green Club

"I don't want to protect the Environment, I want to create a world where the environment doesn't need protection." The Green club is an initiative to create environmental awareness among people all over the world for environmental improvement and to introduce the culture of eco-friendliness, environmental conservation, and cleanliness among them. This club was inaugurated by the Honorable President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind on the 15th of December 2017 and its official journey started on the 15th of January 2018 on the occasion of Makar Sankranti under the supervision of Mr. Ashish Jaiswal (President of Green club). Green club has planted more than 2000 plants till now. Green Club also got District Green Champion Certificate for Prayagraj District in Academic Year 2020-21 as MNNIT has successfully constituted Swachhta Action Plan Committee, adopted best practices in the fields of Sanitation, Waste Management, Water Management, Energy, and implemented. In the year 2019 green club conducted a special plantation drive on the occasion of Independance day called 'Vrihad Vraksharopan Karyakaram' from 15th of August to the 14th of September and will continue this year. In this plantation drive, we successfully planted 538 plants in a month. In the same year on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti we took initiative to spread awareness and importance of cleanliness. A wall decoration program by converting waste plastic bottles into pots and using them to grow plants was organized by Green Club at Kamala Nehru Girls Hostel. This club is contributing for the betterment of college and society. The Green Club aims to inspire people about environmental issues and topics of conservation, bring people together to discuss about ecological issues. In the present scenario, when everyone is rushing towards development and technological advancement, most of us have started taking nature lightly. Let's Go Green To Make Our Planet Clean.
