The NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute is a foundation (non-profit organization) that aims to put the results of basic research to economic use. With its broad interdisciplinary expertise at the point where life sciences and material sciences meet, the NMI has established an outstanding reputation for translating findings from basic research into industrial application ever since it was founded in 1985. The research institute performs applied R&D within the business areas Pharma and Biotech, Biomedicine and Materials Science and Material Analysis and Electron Microscopie.
