The Students’ Association of the School of Medicine of the University of Minho (NEMUM) was established in 2003, born from the growing need for a representative body for the students of the Integrated Master's in Medicine program at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho. NEMUM serves as a driving force for activities aimed at students and the broader community. From the outset, NEMUM has demonstrated its importance to the community it serves, as well as the ambition and visionary spirit of its work. NEMUM stands out for its rigor and excellence, striving to ensure that the education of students in the Integrated Master's in Medicine program at the School of Medicine is as comprehensive and well-rounded as possible. Guided by the principle, “Nothing human is alien to the physician,” a maxim from Professor Joaquim Pinto Machado, the Association focuses its efforts on defending the interests and enhancing the skills of the more than 800 students it represents, while also fostering connections between these students and the community. With an unwavering commitment to innovation and close engagement with students, NEMUM will continue to give voice to and promote an outstanding education for future physicians, positioning itself as a benchmark in youth associations.
