The Norwegian Workers' Union was founded back in 1895 by construction workers and today the association organizes around 33,000 members within: Public construction and maintenance work Construction-related contractor work The cleaning industry Caretakers, damage remediation, special cleaning and maintenance Asphalt work Road maintenance The mining industry The Norwegian coastal administration Security companies Parking companies Tunnel, toll and bridge companies Ski resorts Leisure and entertainment facilities run privately The Norwegian Workers' Union also organizes other groups that do not fall within the scope of specific trade or industry unions. Including young people who are in education aimed at the unions's areas of activity. We are affiliated with The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), which with it's 26 unions total just over 970,000 members. Our union's main purpose is to organize employees and establish collective agreements to ensure members good pay and working conditions.
