The Northern Health Region (NHR), Manitoba is unique in that we provide programs and services to a population of approximately 74,983 individuals in a geographical area that expands over 60% of the province of Manitoba. The NHR consists of 2 cities, 6 towns, 1 rural municipality, 1 local government district, multiple hamlets and cottage settlements, 26 First Nations communities and 16 Northern Affairs communities. The NHR demographics support a younger population compared to the rest of Manitoba, and approximately 70% of our population self-identify as Indigenous.
