The Office of the Attorney-General serves the people of Samoa by upholding the rule of law and providing legal support to the Samoan Government to maintain and improve systems for law, policy and justice. The Attorney General’s legal duties and responsibilities include acting as the principal legal advisor to the Head of State, Cabinet and Prime Minister; acting as the State Prosecutor in criminal proceedings; overseeing civil litigation matters involving the Samoan Government or affecting its interests; drafting or amending legislation and achieving justice and security through a receptive and proactive legal system.
