Since 1975 Ohio Family Care Association (OFCA) has served as the statewide voice for the thousands of adoptive, foster, kinship and respite families – what we here refer to as resource families – in Ohio. In 2012 through our subcommittee, the Ohio Primary Parent Advisory Council (OPPAC) we extended our support to include Ohio primary birth families. Our primary goals is to advocate on behalf of families and our members at the state level and ensure they have a voice in all rules, policies and legislation that impact their family. We also provide links to statewide resources and professional education and training opportunities to ensure families are able to volunteer their time, their homes, and their hearts to serve Ohio’s abused, neglected, dependent, and unruly children.
