The Oklahoma City Housing Authority (OCHA) exists to fulfill its mission of providing affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing or housing assistance with quality environments and opportunities to low or fixed income residents of Oklahoma City. OCHA has several housing programs that assist in fulfilling our mission. OCHA owns and operates 2,920 Public Housing Apartments that are directly subsidized by HUD. In addition to the Public Housing Program, OCHA administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program which is also funded by HUD. Our Housing Choice Voucher Program provides 4,696 vouchers used by low-income families to cover a portion of the monthly rent for privately owned apartments or homes. In total, OCHA provides 7,616 units of low-income assisted housing in all areas of Oklahoma City.
