Brief History of Platinum Mortgage Bank Limited Platinum Mortgage Bank Ltd is one of Nigeria’s leading primary Mortgage Institutions. It was incorporated in 1992 with the Corporate Affairs Commission to provide savings, loans, and homes ownership services, and was licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria under the CBN Decree 24 of 1991 and FMBN Decree No. 53 of 1989 respectively to provide Mortgage Banking Services in Nigeria. Formally called Platinum Home Investment and Mortgage Limited with Headquarters in Lagos, PMB Limited was recapitalized into a formidable Primary Mortgage Institution backed by innovative products, services, the latest information technology, and requisite professional management. After the recapitalization and buy-over by the new Management, the Central Bank of Nigeria approved moving the Head office to Abuja as requested. The Bank opened a shop to the public at its new Head Office in Abuja on October 15th, 2007. It was one of the first mortgage institutions to meet the CBN’s stipulated deadline for recapitalization as it raised its authorized capital of Five billion Naira (N5,000,000,000.00).
