The Force Support Battalion (FSB) is the Papua New Guinea's Defence Force Logistics Battalion. The Unit was formed in the early 80s and was known as the Murray Barracks Area until up to 2013 when the name was changed to FSB. The FSB now has been deploying Combat Service Support Team (CSST) forward as part of the broader military logistic strategy support to our key Units that operates forward on both land and sea borders. FSB is the only Operational Logistics Unit in the PNGDF. Its role is to provide ‘close’ to 'general' support within an Area of Operations The battalion consists of the following units: • Supply Company • Transport Platoon • Workshops Company • Military Police • Signal Squadron • Area Medical Hospital • Ceremonial Company; and • Band Platoon FSB has two (2) Roles: 1. Force Operations Support - Provide Logistic and Technical support to PNGDF 2. Murray Barracks Area Command – Manages Social Services (Camp Security, Utilities and Housing)
