Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah Polytechnic (PTSB), formerly known as Kulim Polytechnic, is the 16th polytechnic under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. In the state of Kedah, Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah Polytechnic (PTSB) is the second polytechnic after the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Polytechnic in Jitra. PTSB began operations on March 1, 2002 on a temporary campus at Seberang Perai Polytechnic, Penang and moved to its 100 -acre permanent campus at Kulim High Technology Park on March 3, 2003. On June 9, 2003, PTSB began recruiting its first cohort of 507 students. . Now the number of students is more than 4,500 people. After operating for 5 years, on March 27, 2007, PTSB was proclaimed by His Majesty Al Sultan AlMu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku AlHaj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, Sultan of the State Kedah Darul Aman. PTSB is headed by a Director and assisted by two (2) Deputy Directors and six (6) Heads of Department. Armed with high spirit and commitment from the front line and all staff, PTSB always strives to be one of the best polytechnics in Malaysia. At PTSB, students can choose to follow study programs at the diploma level offered by four (4) academic departments, namely the Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Commerce. In addition, PTSB also offers a Lifelong Learning Program through Part -Time Courses that are conducted every weekend. It is hoped that with all the available strength in terms of manpower, facilities and support of all parties as well as its strategic position in Kulim High Technology Park, the vision to be a center of educational excellence in engineering and trade and determination to produce skilled graduates, virtuous and responsible will be successfully achieved.
