56 employees

The forerunner of the education at the Politeknik ATK Yogyakarta began in 1954 when the Indonesian Ministry of Industry held a Leather Course called ‘Kursus C”. Formerly, this training aimed to provide technical manpower to support the Leather Research Institute and industries. Furthermore, in line with the demands of academy-level education capable of producing cadres in the field of leather technology in order to improve the leather industry quality in Indonesia, on September 1, 1958, the status was changed to the Leather High School. Later on, it was changed into an academy, with the name Academy of Leather Technology and every September 1st serves as its anniversary. The change was made to meet the need for academy-level higher education providing skilled alumni to support export-oriented leather industries. To further optimize the role of higher education institutions within the Ministry of Industry in supporting competitive industrial development through the provision of a reliable and competent industrial workforce, the Academy of Leather Technology status was changed to Politeknik ATK Yogyakarta in 2015 with 3 (three) Departments: 1. Leather Processing Technology 2. Leather Product Processing Technology 3. Rubber and Plastics Processing Technology
