a joint venture of PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk subsidiary of Merdeka (80%) and Eternal Tsingshan Group Limited (20%). The MTI factory will be established in the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), Central Sulawesi. The AIM project will operate a concentrator for extracting pyrite concentrate, an acid plant, a chloridation roasting plant and a metal extraction plant. The AIM plant is designed to process high quality waste ore and pyrite ore which originates entirely from the Wetar Copper Mine (one of MDKA's subsidiaries) with a nominal capacity of more than 1 million tonnes per year. The ore will be transported in open barges from Wetar Island to the IMIP port and then shipped to the AIM plant for further processing into various products including sulfuric acid, saturated steam, iron ore pellets, copper sponge, lead-zinc hydroxide, doré gold, and silver.
