Quesos El Pastor - Hijos de Salvador S.A. was founded in 1967 by the brothers Lorenzo, Salvador and Domingo. It is currently under the management of Mr. Marco Rodríguez, second generation. Years before, the grandfather D. Salvador Rodríguez had already taken some steps in the cheese world. On May 19, 1998, on the outskirts of Santa Cristina de la Polvorosa and with an investment of more than 6 million euros, a new pressed cheese factory was inaugurated to meet the demand, both technological and production, of this highly competitive and strictly regularized market. Gradually, it has become, with a production of 11 million kg of cheese per year, one of the most important cheese factories in Spain, and the first in the production of Zamorano cheese. In 2012 a new production plant was built, in this case for the production of goat and sheep cheese. It was a bet on a new product practically unknown to the national consumer. In less than two years, goat cheese log is produced in different flavors: with papaya, with pineapple, with pepper, etc. Hijos de Salvador Rodríguez, S.A. (Quesos El Pastor) is the only manufacturer in Spain that produces sheep's cheese log. For more than half a century, the same care and attention that Don Salvador used to take when he made the cheese with his own hands has been maintained.
