Shimizu Corporation was founded in 1804. The company began when Kisuke Shimizu I, who was a carpenter in Etchu or what is now Toyama Prefecture, launched the business in the Kanda Kajicho district of Edo (now Tokyo). From the moment the company was founded, Kisuke Shimizu I aspired to wholeheartedly devote himself to the company’s work and create quality reliable structures. Today, Shimizu continually delves deeply into knowledge and technology to meet the needs of its clients and, by extension, society. In 2019, four legendary construction companies, Shimizu Corporation, Fujita, Takenaka and EEI , decided to fulfil a long-cherished shared dream to bring forth a distinguished subway experience to local Filipinos in Philippines With its strong ethical vision to bring innovate lifestyle to its people, the Shimizu Corporation and other companies had long wished to create the first subway in the Philippines. which lead to the formation of new company subsidiary which is Shimizu – Fujita-Takenaka and EEI Joint Venture. The Metro Manila Subway also know Mega Manila Subway is the biggest and first subway project in the Philippines and is a 36-kilometer rail line that is expected to reduce travel time between Quezon City and the Ninoy Aquino International. It was also dubbed as "Project of the Century" as it is expected to make a history in the Philippines.
