Simonyi Károly College for Advanced Studies is a student organization of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the Technical and Economical University of Budapest. With more than 150 members, it is one of the biggest Special Colleges in Hungary. Simonyi’s most important mission is to enhance the theoretical knowledge learnt at the university with useful practical and soft skills. Our educational system is based on courses held by our members. These courses are free to visit by university students. After that, the participants are entitled to join and get involved in our teams' work. Our College offers several opportunities for its students to develop their professional and social skills in 8 different fields of engineering: _AC Studio&Live: sound engineering, live concerts, studio technique _BS Studio: video technique, TV and radio broadcasting _Designer Group: 2D and 3D graphical design, web design _Electronics Workshop: Integrated circuits, microcontroller programming _HA5KFU: radio technique, wireless communication systems _Kir-Dev: web-based applications, web developing _LEGO group: AI, robotics, embedded systems, space technology _SPOT: photography On the other hand, we get lots of support from our former members, who work at various fields of industry by now. We invite alumni to prove the importance of the Simonyi-experience during their college-years. In 2009 the Simonyi Károly College for Advanced Studies was awarded with Junior Prima Prize for “the high quality educational work and human principals” as a recognition of the significant work the Simonyi College has been doing since decades.
