Solar Team Solaris

Founded in 2003, we proudly produced Turkey’s first solar-powered vehicle in 2005. Since then, we have achieved numerous successes and represented our country internationally. We became the first Turkish team to receive a design award abroad at the Sun Life Design Competition in Greece. Later, at Austria’s "Electric Vehicles Exhibition," we stood out as the only solar vehicle team. Additionally, we secured rankings in various categories in the Formula G races held in Turkey. Expanding our global presence, we participated in 36 races across France, Belgium, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Australia, and South Africa, earning multiple podium finishes. Currently, we have 12 vehicles—7 solar and 5 electric—designed, analyzed, and produced entirely by our team. Aside from batteries and solar panels, we manufacture all electrical and mechanical components ourselves, including our electric motor, achieving a 95% locality rate. Our S11 journey began in 2021, when our seventh solar-powered vehicle debuted at the iLumen European Solar Challenge, marking an exciting milestone. In 2022, we expanded our reach by competing in both the iLumen European Solar Challenge and the Italian Solar Challenge. Finally, in 2024, we took S11 to South Africa for the Sasol Solar Challenge, where we pushed our limits in one of the world's toughest solar races.
