Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Thammasat University has been established since 1999 and has been offered by Thammasat University in accordance with article 18 (3) and (10) of Thammasat University act B.E.2531 to support the architecture education on the basis of special management structure which emphasizes agility and efficiency by referring to government regulations. In order to achieve the academic objectives, in the first two years, the Faculty operated as The Architecture Program, assigned in the 8th Higher Education Development Plan (1997-2001) of OHEC). On October 29, 2001, Thammasat University Council approved the establishment of Faculty of Architecture and approved Thammasat University regulations on the establishment and management of the Faculty of Architecture in 2001. Later in 2005, the Faculty has been renamed to Faculty of Architecture and Planning. In 1999, the Faculty has initiated the first program which is Bachelor of Science Program in Architecture, with 61 registering students. Two years later, the Faculty offered two more programs: Bachelor of Interior Architecture Program and Bachelor of Urban Environmental Planning and Development Program. The Master of Architecture has been first offered in 2003 to further the study for internal students and those who are interested. Throughout two decades, the Faculty has been developing and improving the curriculum to maintain the excellency and offer more programs to satisfy the demand of markets.
